About Us
From patient care to provider care.
David spent a decade in the ICU. Alyssa split hers between the ER and the treatment room. Between them, they've stood at nearly every point in the care continuum — and they know what it costs when the tools don't meet the moment.
That instinct to take care of people didn't leave when they left the bedside. It just found a new direction.
KA Designs LLC (KADE) exists for the people who show up every day, do precise and meaningful work, and deserve tools that are equal to that standard. That's it. That's the whole thing.

OUR STORY ❤️
What do you get when you combine a boxer's fracture and a cheap 3D printer? Apparently, a great idea.
It started the way most good things do — with someone coming home frustrated.
Alyssa had been injecting with a boxer's fracture — and one-handed aspiration was harder than it should have been. Not impossible, just needlessly difficult. The kind of thing you push through without realizing you've started to accept it.
David was listening. He'd just walked away from a job that had taken more than it gave, with no plan for what came next and a cheap 3D printer he'd gotten on sale for his birthday. What he did have was time, a problem worth solving, and someone he loved who deserved better than a workaround.
He built the first Control Ring for her hand alone.
She loved it. She passed it along to a few colleagues. They loved it too — and they said what injectors have been saying to us ever since: you should sell this.
So we did.
Not because we had a business plan. Because the people around us made it clear they'd been waiting for the same answer. We've been building in response to that community ever since — and every product we've added to the catalog exists because an injector told us it was needed.
That's still how it works. It always will be.
OUR FOUNDERS
David King, BSN RN | Co-Founder & CEO
David is a Trauma and Neuro ICU nurse, a drummer since age 11, and someone who has spent his whole life building things — in music, in healthcare, and now in the tools he designs for injectors. He approaches every product the way he approached critical care: with the understanding that the smallest detail changes everything, and that compromise isn't a feature.
For David, great tools disappear and become part of you. That's not a tagline. It's the standard every KADE product is held to before it leaves his hands.
Alyssa Hoover, MSN ACNP | Co-Founder & CCO
Alyssa is an ER nurse, an ACNP, an aesthetic injector, and a painter — someone who has always understood that precision and beauty aren't in conflict. She's the reason the first ring exists, the first person to use it, and the clinical conscience behind everything KADE makes.
She knows what it feels like to work with tools that weren't designed with you in mind. That knowledge shapes every design decision — and her connection to the injector community means the people KADE serves are never far from the center of the conversation.
CLOSING
We didn't set out to build a brand. We set out to solve a problem for someone we loved — and found a community of people who needed the same thing.
That's still who we are. And that's who we're building for.
